Sko-Die Press Room Team Completes Training ProgramSko-Die recently completed a 10-week training session for our press room team members. Using PMA-MetalForm EDU as the basis for this training, employees successfully enhanced their knowledge of stamping, press controls, safeguarding, die components, basic die operations, modes of operation, press specifications, indicators of improper die operations, and types of presses. The training class took place in Sko-Die’s new training room and was taught by recently retired Sko-Die employee Servando Vargas.
Meet Our Team | Eric Swanson |
Eric Swanson
Project Engineering Manager
Eric Swanson recently joined the Sko-Die team in September of this year and brings a lifetime of tool and die and stamping experience to his role as Project Engineering Manager. Getting his start in the industry working in his family’s shop, Eric spent time in the early 1990’s as a young tool and die maker at Sko-Die for a period of time. His career then took him on a path with stops at a number of other manufacturing companies in roles as senior die designer and operations manager to name a few, developing his skills and knowledge base along the way. He also has a passion for teaching, not only the young tool makers at Sko-Die, but also at the Technology & Manufacturing Association where he teaches die design.
As project Engineering Manager at Sko-Die, Eric works with personnel from all departments, addressing engineering challenges and supporting the team on the shop floor and in the tool room to help ensure all is running smoothly. His demeanor and diverse experience are invaluable to the company.
“I truly enjoy coming to work every day, and the level of support from the Sko-Die management team is the best I have ever had throughout my entire career. They are not only willing to invest in the right equipment and systems to safely get the job done, but also have a fabulous facility with a great workflow and room to grow as needed. In addition, they take care of their employees and continually provide them with opportunities to grow and gain knowledge, and I am very excited to be a part of the team. I am always willing to help anyone that is willing to learn, and I know other employees feel the same way,” says Swanson.
Eric and his wife have two grown children and are soon to be grandparents for the first time. In his free time Eric enjoys looking for “treasures” at library book sales, ranging from biographies of presidents, technical books, and American history.
